Orange Spiced Shortbread

Shortbread is one of the easiest biscuits you can make, it only uses three main ingredients and you can flavour it in any which way you like such as chocolate, herbs and flowers too. For some lovely ideas why not try these Finnish Shortbread or Chocolate Shortbread.
Did you know that you can even add chilli to your shortbread, check out this chilli shortbread to find out how. To make shortbread rich you can even add clotted cream and make these clotted cream shortbread. I also love lemon drizzle cake.

I have added christmassy flavours to my shortbread by adding orange zest, cinnamon and honey. My kitchen smelt heavenly whilst I was making them. I also love making Snowflake lemon shortbread for christmas as I am a big fan of citrus flavours.Do check out these delicious Easy Vegan Orange & vanilla protein bites

To make the shortbread, making the dough in a good sized bowl such as the Mason and Cash mixing bowl makes life easy, it's a perfect accompaniment in my kitchen for all my baking tasks together with the generous sized wooden utensils too.

  4. Sounds like a very festive version of shortbread. I often make shortbreads just because it's easy and delicious, but honestly, I've never added oranges to my recipe, much less chili. I have to consider this for the future.

  5. Very interesting. I like both of the ingredients individually but haven't tried them at the same bite. How was it?

  6. That looks (and sounds) delicious. It would be lovely for the family at Christmas. Put in a nicely wrapped box, it would make a unique and original hand-made Christmas present too.
