Masala chai (Tea)-Milky brewed tea, flavoured with an array of fragrant and aromatic Indian spices such as powdered ginger, cardamom, cinnamon and black pepper.
prep time: 2 Mcook time: 10 Mtotal time: 12 M
Ingredients:
2 cups water
3/4 cup milk
1.5 teaspoon loose tea leaves
2 teaspoons sugar (optional)
1/2 teaspoon tea masala
Instructions:
In a saucepan mix the water and milk and heat.
Add the sugar,tea leaves and tea masala.
Bring the chai to boi , reduce heat and simmer to allow the flavours to infuse.
Hmmm.... Masalewaali Kadak Chai.... That reminds me of " Ek garam chai ki pyaali ho.... aur usko pilaane waali ho" LOL!!!! But I am thrilled with the ingredients in your masala.... & wondering how kadak must be the taste......!!!! Looks good & persuading me to try it too.... :-)

I usually just boil with the whole spices. Having this masala powder on hand will make it easier and a great item to keep in the pantry. Will definitely be making the masala powder soon.
I love making my tea masala at home. I find the ready made one is too gingery. For my daughter's wedding, I made the masala at home, packed in cute bottles and left it as a present for all the wedding guests in the rooms.
